Scott and  I (and Holly the Labrador) just did our first OR Coast tour of 2011 yesterday with Tim from Alexandria.   Man, there’s nothing like the Oregon Coast!  The crashing of the waves pounding the beach; the rugged cliffs; the beach itself, sometimes sand, sometimes round stones, ending in sky-high cliffs, giant logs strewn everywhere; the hundreds of miles of PUBLICLY OWNED beach free for everyone to explore; the temperate rain forest of windswept grass, scotch broom and gnarled spruce, pine and fir trees; the wind blowing the mist across your face and tugging at your clothing; the seabirds running along the beach and soaring overhead; the endless natural treasures to be found half-buried in the sand; and perhaps my favorite thing, the smell of the ocean mixed with all the vegetation, wind and rocks.

Best of all, if it’s raining we just put the bikes on the van and drive to select beaches and viewpoints in the cozy warmth of the van!  You can’t go wrong!

Wow.  We love Oregon and can’t wait to share this fantastic tour with everyone on the planet, come on down and visit us!
