TOUR DESCRIPTION
In this tour we’ll explore some of the places which make Portland one of the country’s leaders in sustainability and green building.  We’ll see various examples of the city and business’ commitment to keeping our river clean through such exotic sounding means as ecoroofs (with some of the best views in the city), bioswales, raingardens, naturescaping and green streets. 

We’ll tour buildings which have achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from Silver to Platinum, including one of the highest rated new buildings in the world, the first renovation in the country to achieve LEED Gold, a college dorm which uses rainwater to flush its toilets and a microbrewery which uses solar power to brew beer. 

Along the way we’ll tour much of the central city and ride along a bike and pedestrian only path along the river with unparalleled views of downtown.
